    1 Shirt Worn 5 Ways

    April 21, 2017 / No Comments

I love a button down shirt but I never used to.  I used to think I couldn’t wear them due to my large bust – no one needs to see a gaping peephole to my cleavage and shirts are not supposed to do that.  It is only with age (and thus experience of wearing clothes, getting it wrong, and then finally getting it right), that I’ve come to realise the shirt is a wardrobe staple. BUT you need to go for high quality and part with the cash to get it – plus it will last you years which is a more sustainable option.  A well made shirt is such…

M A Y A few car calamities kicked off May With M A Y

A few car calamities kicked off May
With a literal bang and a lot of dismay
Shocked and shaken, but determined to rise
I chose to move forward and enjoy my life
Parties, birthdays, celebrations galore
Drinks in the sunshine with mi amore
So although Mays start was a little bit frightening
I chose to strike back ‘cos I am grease lightening ⚡️⚡️⚡️
A month into my new role and what a whirlwind mont A month into my new role and what a whirlwind month!

It certainly wrapped up in style this week as I got hit back a truck on Monday when it reversed into me as I crossed the road (yes his fault “i didn’t see you”), and Friday, a car drove into the back of me (yes her fault “I was looking the other way, sorry”). You can’t make this shit up.

I class myself a spiritual person who believes in the power of the universe and positive thinking, so I’m gonna read this as a sign that all the recent changes might be tough, kind of like feeling like you’ve been hit by a truck ha ha, but I’m able to come through it, survive and thrive.

The mentoring work that I still do, has really prevailed in all of this. ☀️Your thoughts become things, choose the good ones.☀️
Is my baby boy really 9? My darling, at 9 you are Is my baby boy really 9?

My darling, at 9 you are kind, patient and loving…when no one is looking and so long as your mates don’t see 🫣🤣

You and your sister are like an old married couple - so close and full of love yet with intense rounds of bickering. You lean on each other and I love to hear you laughing together after I’ve put you to bed.

You’re laid back and cool, daft and sarcastic, strong and hard working, thoughtful and emotionally intelligent. At 9! And those dimples 🥰😋🥰

My goodness, watch out world.

Happy birthday handsome xxx

@alihendrycoaching is back. We had so many magical things to discuss - I’ve released this on two parts:

1. We discuss labels, pronouns and gender fluidity. I can see movement in people starting to look at gender and preferences as fluid; unearthing a wave of authentic self-expression.

We discuss having fear of what you don’t understand, the power of self-awareness, compassion and curiosity.

2. In this episode, we discuss ‘the relationship after’, when you try to love again post breakup and how frikkin hard it is!

At the same time as trying to fall in love - this time, perhaps in a different way to the way it didn't work out, you're also full of trying.

Trying to heal, trying to trust, trying to imbibe, trying to unlearn all the behaviours that were moulded in the last relationship.

There's a lot of propaganda out there carrying messages such as, 'if it is true love, it won't be hard. It will just happen', but I'm calling BS on that.

We start with Ali’s story on being twice divorced and ripping up the rule book when it comes to love.

In this episode, I talk to Dating Coach and Matchmaker, Jade Bianca - owner of the agency @dating_after_div

I discovered Jade on instagram and her free advice and helpful resources, empathic insights and her hilarious spoof scenarios made me instantly relate to her and feel comforted.

We discuss everything from honesty and authenticity to profile no-no’s, dating tips that build meaningful connections and how to use grief to help you design a life you love, as well as a whole host of gems such as:

⚡️Reframing patterns “I like to think of it as a mental health break”
⚡️Waiting for the perfect time “You shouldn’t put your life on hold”
⚡️Dating as a professional “It’s hard to mentally change that [boardroom] mode”
⚡️Adapting to new ways of dating “We need to stop being so narrow minded in our dating online”
⚡️Choosing dating profile photos “Just embrace it”
⚡️How to stay safe online “I felt like I had a lucky escape”
⚡️Life after divorce “You do not need to be a passenger in your own life”
⚡️Comparison culture “Comparison is the thief of joy”
It has taken me a month to come to this point to f It has taken me a month to come to this point to feel ready to share something. To tell you about my new chapter.

Why?

Because I’ve had to get my own head and heart around the change for this long first.

The last near-two years, I’ve been running my own business after stepping down from a senior role in marketing.

I chose to do that as, at that time, I was drowning in the pain of my 18 year relationship ending, going through a divorce and the sale of our family home, supporting two children throughout it, organising new financials, paving a new way and trying hard to put one foot in front of the other...in lockdown.

My kids needed me and I never saw them.
I needed me.

So I made a big decision. And I let people down. And I hurt people. But I also heeled. I also remembered who the fuck I was. I also got us all through it. I also came out of the other side fuckin thriving.

The last two years has seen me enjoy my passion, my heritage skills, my first loves, build a new home for my kids and I, generate deeper relationships with my friends, feel the amazing love of them and my family, be more honest than ever, be the real me without apology and fall in love again.

But now…I’m ready to rebuild my marketing career. I want to be part of a team again. I want to use my acumen. I want to thrive on stability and challenge and hard work. I want to stand on my own two feet firmer than ever and I want to do it in glitter neon stilettos with studs.

And so I started to interview with companies I admire and got offered a role with a beauty brand I’ve adored for a long time.

I start on Monday!

While my mentoring and styling skills will always be used, this is my next chapter. Once again, the page has been turned and I cannot wait to share the story with you.

Thank you to my kids, my family, my friends and my man. I feel invincible with you at my side xxx

I speak to a panel of women sharing their experiences, thoughts, feelings, facts and knowledge on menopause.

We hear from Liz McCulloch, a GP with a specialist interest in Aesthetic Medicine, PMS and Menopause health, she is also the Medical Director mSkin with her own practice as well as practicing at The Montefiore Hospital and as an Associate at the International Centre for Hormone Health in Harley Street, London. We’re joined by Emma Fullwood, a middle age awakening coach - helping busy, worn out women go from just “fine” to blooming marvellous. And Sarah Rudder, Coach, facilitator and author who is changing lives with her work in mental toughness.

Alongside these incredible women, I delve into the language used around menopause, in how we frame it in society, education, with our networks and indeed to ourselves. Why so many of us seem to enter into menopause without eyes wide shut, and what strides are happening to improve this.
