Three Simple Styles for Spring (that are great for nursing too)
Posted March 23, 2016 by Bethanie Lunn
With Beth on maternity leave, I’m guest posting regularly and this first post is all about budget-friendly fashion essentials to add to your spring wardrobe. Flitting between freelance and mum of three, my wardrobe needs to show a unique sense of style while being practical.
I’m also breastfeeding our four month old baby boy and so this added factor has narrowed the market down when looking to style my spring wardrobe. I have however, found three main items that are adaptable and great for nursing in too…
The Maxi Dress
I love a maxi dress and this one will last from spring to summer. Wear it with a denim jacket or layer up with a chunky knitted long line cardigan or duster coat for chillier days. I’ve gone for quite a light design with this piece as I’m older and I think this softens not only my look but is more flattering to my figure too. Especially since I am only four months post birth.
The Poncho Top
This can work with smart trousers too but for my lifestyle this is quite a smart looking outfit with a pair of light blue skinny jeans. It’s also perfect for cooler summer nights following on from spring. Again a light colour just softens the look and means you won’t overheat in the glare of the sun too.
The Breton Stripe
I love a stripe and although I can now longer pull them off in a column dress I can on my top half. This top would be great with a casual flowing skirt or with a pair of denim cut offs on the beach.
This is my perfect spring wardrobe – will yours look similar this year?
