...is the first community by re:life championing sustainability through mindful clothes swapping and preloved collections. Having launched on Instagram just to kick things off, there's more to expect so watch this space for developments.

Read on for how you can help the environment and your wardrobe!

Our community:

Through a series of initiatives, we'll be championing sustainability and building a community that encourages kindness to yourself, our planet and each other.

When you join the community, you'll be invited to a clothes swapping group of people who are a similar dress size and shape to you (purely so you can swap clothes and tips effectively). See our FAQs for more details on this.

You'll also be invited to regular online workshops, enjoy exclusive fashion, beauty and wellness content and have access to carefully sourced second hand and ethical buys and curated collections.

It's free to join - just follow our Instagram profile to and let's start making a difference together.

How to get started:

We have private groups of people in similar size categories - just so you can swap clothing effectively. You are way more than just your size though - it is just a number but by request, shoppers have asked to be paired this way.

If however there is an item we think others will like and  / or the sizing is flexible and would fit a range of people - we’ll share it in our stories, feed and other groups.

Finding your group:

If you’ve not done so already, DM us or leave a comment over at Insta with the following to help us find good matches for you:

Typical UK dress size range

Shoe size

Bra / bust size (this help us advise good fits, cuts and shapes for you)

Any other thoughts you want to share with us. It could be that you're looking for a particular item or love a part of your body you want to show off.

You don’t have to share all the above answers if you don’t want to of course. Your preferred size range is enough to be added the groups that will suit you.

Once all the groups are set up, we’ll kick things off with a few questions and guide you, then the swaps can begin!

If you don’t provide these details, we’ll assume you don’t want to swap clothes just yet and will be looking out for all the other content and happenings instead.

Over to you...

A couple of rules:

1. To encourage mindfulness, when posting pics of clothes you want to swap once in your groups, please share WHY you want to swap the items and why you think someone else will love it instead. It ain’t a chance to get rid of sh*t, it’s a chance to Re:home clothing.

2. Items must be in decent condition so clean, no holes, stains or damage.

3. Accessories and shoes are also included.

4. As a professional stylist, the founder Beth can support you and offer styling advice so do share your thoughts in your group.

5. You can meet up or send clothing to each other via post or courier but we ask that you please go plastic-free with your packaging. We’re encouraging sustainability here!

Do share those pics of you in your new togs by tagging us @regardinglife.co.uk using #swapsuccess.

What if I don’t have a typical size?

This is great, you can join as many groups as you like - just let us know by DM or comment or we’ll ask you when we first start chatting on Insta.

What happens if I can’t find a swap?

We're looking to gather unwanted preloved clothing for charity donations and curated collections so it doesn’t get wasted either way.

In the near future, we’ll also be able to offer further options such as customisation and up-cycling, re:love your stuff styling classes and preloved styling shopping trips.

Bear with us and we'll share news on updates as soon as we're able.

What if I like something in my group but don’t have any claims for a swap in return?

A swap isn't always necessary.

If response to your shared items is quiet, start with asking the group if there is anything in particular they’re looking for. It might help you remember what else you have tucked away in your closet and would be willing to swap.

If that doesn’t work, you could discuss buying the item you love or donating to a charity of their choice. In the very least, just offer to pay for the post and packaging.

Failing that, message the person via DM and see if they're happy to send it to you without any swap, the most important thing is that these items find a new home and don't, therefore, go into landfill.

If you’re left with a bunch of un-swapped stuff, there will be a host or other options coming soon (see ‘what happens if I can’t find a swap?’)

I’ve found a swap - now what do I do?

You ask the person you’re swapping with to DM you their address and you post it to them - how you do that is up to you. Whatever is easiest - first class, second class or courier. If you live nearby each other, maybe you even want to meet to exchange.

The only thing we ask is that you don’t use plastic. We’re encouraging sustainability after all.

Why do you group people by their size range?

We ask you your preferred size range, purely so we can add you to the groups on Instagram with other people who have clothes that will fit you well, and allow you to swap clothes effectively and mindfully.

Not one of us is defined by our size, no way. As a professional stylist and body positive advocate, Beth is more than aware that size isn’t everything,

'Size is just a number! But there are a few factors to consider in finding a good fit'.

'The way clothes are cut and made, the fabric, the brand, the era it was made and general usageall mean typical sizing and fit applies however, my knowledge enables me to see what items will fit a range of people regardless of size.'

'When I find these staples, I’ll share them to our Instagram feed, stories, highlights or in other groups.'

'I’ll be in every group so can advise on styling if you wish too.'

Some facts for you:

According to research by Google, the fashion industry accounts for 20% of wastewater and 10% of carbon emissions globally. A recent report from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation – a registered charity that campaigns for economic change – showed that clothes account for half a million tons of non-biodegradable microfibres reaching the oceans every year – the equivalent of more than 50 billion plastic bottles!

'So rather than adding to landfill and the destruction of our beautiful planet and wildlife- just for a nice t-shirt - I'm on a new style mission and want to bring you along with me.'

Personal Shopping

Are you asking questions like:

  • Where are my clothes made and what are they made of?
  • Is there a more affordable and ethical way to get new clothes?
  • I love the buzz of retail therapy but does it literally have to cost the Earth?

Then you've had the same mindset shift as me.

Since the chaos of Covid-19 began, it's business as (un)usual for every industry yet for fashion, there's a growing army of conscious consumers.

Meet your ethically-aware, sustainable stylist.

I've been a Stylist for over 15 years, working across personal shopping, editorial and commercial shoot styling.

Today, all my services place sustainability at the heart:

  • Promoting clothes swapping
  • Sourcing second hand buys
  • Showing you how to re:love your existing wardrobe and
  • Buying from sustainable fashion labels, where possible.

All experiences give you access to my curated preloved collections that allow you to swap your unwanted clothing for new items that I've pulled together from donations.

We will shop around vintage stores, preloved collections, charity shops and for sustainable clothing too.

I still find fast fashion seductive and I will buy new when I need to, but if there is another way, one that doesn't cost the Earth, literally, I will show you how.

Find the right service for you...
