I’ve Moved House – Have a Snoop

I’m finally in and settled in our new family home and the journey has been an epic one.  I may share the full story in time but let’s put it this way, owning our own home again has been a dream we’ve longed for, for years.  It became ever more important to have the security of our own home when my husband Neal and I became parents.  At the mercy of Landlords and when they want you to leave, coupled with various health scares in the family, freak accidents, psychotic Landlords (yes really)…we have moved house a total of 14 times in our 13 years together.  I’m surprised we’re still standing.

When we were younger and child-free, we enjoyed trying new places, having lived everywhere across the UK from London to Leeds.  Now though, we’re so incredibly happy and relieved to be able to call a house our home.  I don’t think of it as settling down, more like settling up.

I’ll be filming a house tour on my video channel soon if you’re interested?  This month, one of the topic choices for Vlog Stars by Mr and Mrs T Plus Three and You Baby Me Mummy is ‘Show Us Where You Live’ so it seems very apt for that too.

For now though, I thought (hoped) you’d enjoy some snippets of my favourite pieces around my home so far…

‘Don’t let anyone ever dull your sparkle’

Bedside Table

My favourite candle.  It gave our new home its own smell.  Noble Isle’s Rhubarb Rhubarb! Candle. Blended with notes of juniper berry, muddled rosemary, moss and cedar wood plus the finest rhubarb extract, sourced from award winning E. Oldroyd & Sons sixth-generation rhubarb farm in the Yorkshire Triangle.

A kitchen corner. The ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ Print was bought from the War Memorial in Manchester before the cheesy overload of remakes and alternatives of this meaningful statement. The hanging chalkboard heart says ‘No Coffee, No Talkie’ – I NEED my espresso maker!..those around me agree 😉

The Bar! Neal made this himself. The sword on the front is what we used to cut our wedding cake, a Spanish custom (we married in Spain). Yes, we were somehow allowed to take it through customs! The chair is a gift from a friend, creating a snug reading corner. After giving birth, I will sit here and demand my husband feeds me cocktails at once.

This is my Organisation Station! I’ve used a chalkboard wall transfer and on it, I record our menu plans for the week, stuff I want to create and that I’m inspired by plus key dates.

The view. The best bit – a lifelong dream

Thank you for reading.  I hope you like my style. x
