Fabulous Finds For You and the Kids
Posted April 14, 2016 by Bethanie Lunn
As part of Bloggers Hangout
, I got to try* a host of gorgeous brands this week, ideal for you and the kids. Here are my favourites that I’m sure you’ll love too…
Baby Romper Suits that do themselves up!
Magnet Mouse is a genius brand that I’m so glad to have discovered – offering a range of baby wear without poppers. Yes, you read that correctly, no poppers – ‘yesssssss’
I hear you rejoice. Instead, Magnet Mouse
romper suits close in seconds thanks to clever hidden magnetic fasteners. The magnets snap shut and pull together in a way that almost does it for you, and are hidden away in luxuriously soft cotton – seriously, it is so soft to the touch, you’ll want to stroke it. It makes you wonder how on Earth you got by before.
Magnet Mouse clothing makes changing super easy, which I’ve welcomed with open arms during reflux accidents and poo explosions, especially in the middle of the night! Zzzz
Attachable Teething Toys – no more dropping!
I like the idea of teething toys but when baby constantly drops it on the floor and you have to therefore constantly wash it or replace it, there’s little point in using them – they become more hassle than they’re worth. In steps Cheeky Chompers
, designed by two mums who met in antenatal class, who felt exactly the same as me and therefore created teething products that attach to the baby.
My daughter is eight weeks old so isn’t teething just yet but she does like to suckle and chew for comfort and I’ve found the Neckerchew
and the Chewy
helpful for this. It beats using my finger or nipples!
The Neckerchief is an award winning design that combines a dribble bib with a chewy teether on the tip to soothe painful gums, while the new Chewy is an attachable, safe teething toy that amuses busy gums and hands. It also features a soothing smell and audible squeak to stimulate all the senses. I’ve a feeling this may well become my daughters favourite toy.
I love that the Neckerchew is fully reversible and has a special super absorbent middle layer to lock away dribble, saving you from the need to change it every time they spit up. The fact that they come in 15 stylish designs is a bonus. My daughter has more clothes than me!
The Best Multi-Purpose Moisturiser you can all use!
I’ve seen Kokoso Baby’s raw, fresh-pressed organic coconut oil featured on many a parent bloggers instagram – each of them raving about its natural nourishing properties, so I was thrilled to try this out for myself. Every magical pot has around three organic coconuts that have grown on an ethical, family-run, certified-organic farm in Thailand.
I found the consistency much lighter than other coconut oils which helped it blend faster and more easily into my baby’s skin. We’ve been using it for five days now and her skin is so much softer – especially benefitting the dry skin she had in the folds of her cute and chubby little legs. Kokoso Baby
also contains moisturising fatty acids including more than 50% auric acid, a healing agent also found in breast milk, Vitamin E and natural antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that help protect your little ones skin from germs while soothing any irritations.
You’ll know that I’m already a fan of coconut oil and use it myself as well as on my childrens skin, it has many uses:
- For the kids: as a moisturiser, bottom butter, cradle cap reliever, for baby massage
- For me: as a makeup remover, lip balm, moisturiser, hair conditioner, cuticle softener and even in cooking. If you want more inspiration on how to use your pot, check this out.
Elegant Children’s Decor!
Belle and Boo is a British brand known for original, nostalgic ‘story book’ illustrations of children with a huge collection of design lead pieces for your home and lifestyle. The collection includes gift items, books, framed artworks, stationery, home wares and girls’ clothing.
We were sent the gorgeous My Paper Plane print, £25 and Belle Hugs Boo print, £25 which add an element of playful sophistication to my children’s rooms. The products come beautifully wrapped too – making them perfect gift to send by post. The characters and style remind me of Winne the Pooh, conjuring memories of my own childhood, and so creating a feeling of nostalgia and wonder. Simply beautiful.
Cute Kidswear and Stylish Nursing Wear!
caters for you and your kids with clothing made from super soft organic cotton that is kinder and feels good on yours and your little one’s skin. They also do
good by giving 1% from all sales to the Bees, Seas & Trees, through their 1% for the Planet donation.
We have this cute pirate parrot t-shirt, £16 and Lovely Babygrow
, £18 with matching hat
, £7. My son got terribly excited to see a bird dressed as a pirate – the designs are a lot of fun for both girls and boys, catering from 0-10 years.
I tried this Top and Tie Cardi
, £49 which you can wear as a one ensemble or separately. I love the nautical pattern and bold colours and find the Frugi women’s wear collection
one of the coolest around for nursing, there are so many frumpy designs out there!
The top panel of the vest has an elasticated bottom which can be lifted up to reveal a hidden bandeau underneath that pulls down for discreet feeding. Sizes run in small, medium and large.
Street Style Kids Clothing!
I love a bit of cute for the kids but often get sick of all the silly clowns, bows and bears emblazoned on the front. Instead, I want stylish, streetwear for my kids that oozes individuality and cool. Piupia
offers this, with clothes that are not only comfortable and green, but exceptionally on trend. The fun use of colour, illustrations and prints celebrate your kids personalities with the same sense of playfulness that they have bundles of!
We love this Donkey Skirt
, £18.20 and Blue SL Bodysuit,
£11.20. It is so incredibly refreshing to see girls clothes in particular giving you the option away from pink and girly. Sizes run from 0-24 months for babywear and up to 4 years for kids.
